Who Is Jesus?

Questions Welcome

If you are reading this page, you most likely have some questions about who Jesus is, and what He has to do with you! That is totally normal.

So take a little time to read through this page, carefully, and then please contact us and let us know what you think. You can do so by opening the menu in the top right, and then selecting the "Send Us An Email" button down in the bottom left of the menu.

All of us here at Faith Family really look forward to getting to know you, and look forward to you getting to know Him!

The Historical Jesus

God has revealed Himself through His creation. The universe proclaims His eternal power and Godhood. (See Romans 1, Psalm 19) In the Bible God has given us a much more personal revelation of Himself as He communicated through patriarchs and prophets. But then, at the precise point in history predicted by God, He revealed Himself in a Person; Jesus Christ.

Jesus Himself said, “"I and My Father are One."” Speaking to Philip He said, "“He who has seen Me has seen the Father."” In other words, if we want to know what God is like, look to Jesus.

" Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse."

- C.S. Lewis

The Bible says that Jesus “was in the beginning with God and was God.” (John1) So, to answer the question, "“Who is Jesus”?" consider the words of C.S. Lewis:

"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: “I’'m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.” That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher.

He would either be a lunatic— on level with the man who says he is a poached egg —or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God."

He Wants You To Know Him

There is a huge difference between knowing about God and knowing Him personally. In fact, one can know a great deal about Christianity without being a Christian. The difference is in faith. Not how much faith, but what your faith is in. People put their faith in many different things. Some trust in their good works, while others trust in some kind of religious experience. But according to the Bible there is only one faith that saves a person from their sins and that is faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Ephesians 2.8-9 says, “"For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” This faith comes to God, believing that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him." (Hebrews 11.6)

So if you believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins, and that He was buried and rose again from the dead, the next step is simple. Commit your life to Him. Decide right now to follow Him. Open your heart and receive Him as your Lord and Savior. Making that decision is what identifies real faith. The Bible says, "“For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved."” (Romans 10.13)

Why don’t you pray right now; that is, talk to Jesus and invite Him into your life. Ask Him to forgive you and, by faith, receive Him into your heart. Trusting Jesus makes a new beginning for you. The Bible says, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold, the new has come.”
